Are the greatest teams lead by one person or a team of people?
In this next episode of The Sermon Series, we discuss the nature of where and how world-class "team leadership" is built. I saw this kind of leadership with my rugby team mates over 17 years of rugby with my two rugby clubs: LSU Rugby and Huntington Beach Rugby. But ultimately, the Apostle Paul gives us what it really looks like to really lead as a unit in his letter to the Philippians.
Scripture: Philippians 1 : 27-30
"Only let your manner of life be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of you that you are standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving side by side for the faith of the gospel, and not frightened in anything by your opponents. This is a clear sign to them of their destruction, but of your salvation, and that from God. For it has been granted to you that for the sake of Christ you should not only believe in him but also suffer for his sake, engaged in the same conflict that you saw I had and now hear that I still have.

"Be the best at the basics, my brother." Those were the words, Dan "Taco" Cerrillo, former Navy SEAL operator and instructor told me during a recent training evolution. This is what separates the Navy SEALs from everyone else. They are elite at the basics. It turns out that being the "best at the basics" is the key to elite performance in every area of life, including the Defense of The Gospel.

Are you making God wait for you?

I also share a lesson on Chapter 21 of the Gospel of John and how the path we seek in business and sales is not about our own efforts but rather listening to where He tells us to "cast our nets."

Have you ever considered what's really going on with our children when they seem to be asking us hundreds of questions?
Consider that they are demonstrating one of the most powerful forms of connection.
This week after watching the WWII movie "Greyhound" with my six year old daughter, Annie Grace, I realized that questions are truly instruments of connection.

Are you liar about what you are grateful for? As we now see so many people cursing 2020 as the ultimate "dumpster fire" of a year, it's easy to fall into that victimhood frame.
I was forced to consider this question when I realized I had been living in a frame of conditional gratitude on some things.
If you aren't unconditionally grateful, you aren't grateful at all.
"Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing." - 1 James 2-4
